4th-Gen iPhone to be made by Foxconn claims uber-insider

As tenuous, unsourced speculation goes, the only thing stopping us laughing today's iPhone fourth-gen rumor out of the building is the person spreading it.  Mobile-Review's Eldar Murtazin is familiar to anybody who follows bleeding-edge smartphone news, and has his metaphorical fingers in a vast number of insider industry pies.  When he tweets that Foxconn have secured the manufacturing deal for the next-gen iPhone, people stop and listen.

Murtazin, when asked for his opinion on the device, followed up with a comment that he hadn't seen either the specifications or the handset itself, but that he knew multitasking support had been added.  That will be music to iPhone-lovers' ears, as proper multitasking has been a long-anticipated feature on the device.  Apple have previously discounted its support, citing battery concerns, so if it turns out to be a part of the 4th Gen handset then it might suggest the company have dramatically reworked their power management to accommodate.  Still, we're not expecting the new iPhone until Summer 2010, so there's plenty of time for the inevitable avalanche of rumors to come.
