Promising to frustrate an awful lot of early adopters, UK gadget mag T3 are reporting that Apple are set to announce the iPhone 2 at today’s Special Event - not only fresh for the UK market, but packing 3G to sate the Brit’s voracious data urges.

Apple iPhone 3G to be announced today?

According to their sources inside Cupertino, the 3G iPhone is ready and waiting for launch, and the BBC - who is screening the event to a select audience in the UK - an exact date for availability is to be revealed by Steve Jobs at today’s Event in San Francisco.

There’s no word yet as to whether European launch dates outside of the UK will be announced, nor whether the 3G iPhone might replace or supplement the US version (or even fail to be launched there altogether).

Make sure you’re reading SlashGear’s Live Blogging from the Apple Special Event to find out all the news as it breaks!
