Nah, you are right that millions of people are going to buy these TV's. Most of the tech economy runs on gimmicks. Just like all of the marketing malarkey surrounding 3G / 4G. It doesn't mean I have to fall in step and praise the glory of our corporate masters' genius ideas. If I think something is a silly gimmick, I'm just going to say so.

Come ON. What has happened to "reporting the news" these days...

This was nothing more than a biased rant against a new technology purely because YOU don't like it.

Well tough. There are millions of people that do, and we don't give a crab what you say. Why do people like you feel the need to publicly denounce 3D and claim its bad based solely on your personal problems?

Either write unbiased news, or don't bother. There are plenty of personal blogs for rants like this, supposed news sites do not need this rubbish.

If 3D gives you headaches I can certainly understand your disdain for the technology. But for those of us, like myself, who have no problems with headaches it does add depth to the viewing experience. I agree that it is something easily abused which makes it gimmicky at times. Give the industry time to learn when/how to use the technology properly. Also, display technology in this area is advancing very quickly. Once manufacturers can produce auto-stereoscopic displays for a reasonable price I can really see this going mainstream. Don't be surprised that manufacturers are including this in most of their new TV sets - it is very cheap for them to add this feature...

Another cynic - for crying out loud. While there is freedom of opinion and everyone has a right to it, generalisations by implying that these 3D TVs are just charging extra for a worthless gimmick is quite un-professional and against ethics of journalism I feel. While 3D is not for everyone, but it is people like these because of which the mass public doesnt even give this technology a chance. But when they do come across one (like at John Lewis last week when I was checking these out), I mostly heard aaww's of amazement even when some people may not be able to afford it.

As I said, it is def not for everyone and there will be people for whom this tech means headaches, etc but let time and people decide what is best for them.

I love 3D and cant wait to get the new Pana VT30
