While I don’t think Sony has much to complain about in the way of PS3 sales, you know they have to be pretty excited to hear that they’re getting an order for 300 shiny new consoles. Sure, a company ordering 300 PS3s wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but the US Air Force has placed this order.

PS3

According to the purchasing request “The processors in the Sony PlayStation 3 are the only brand on the market that utilizes the specific cell processor characteristics needed for this program at an acceptable cost.” You know that this has to be a marketing exec’s wet dream.

I’m just curious as to what they are going to be doing with 300 PS3s. Perhaps they are going to cluster them together and harness the power of the cell processor. Or maybe they just want to have some kick-ass lan parties.
