256 GB Extreme Pro CompactFlash card unveiled by SanDisk

SanDisk has unveiled a new high-capacity storage solution for photographers and videographers using devices supporting the CompactFlash format. The new storage card is the SanDisk Extreme Pro 256 GB CompactFlash card. The card meets the latest VPG-65 specification.

SanDisk says that the new memory card provides minimum sustained write speeds of 65 MB per second and is optimized for the capturing of 4K and full HD resolution video. The memory card also promises industry-leading transfer speeds of up to 160 MB per second.

The fast transfer speed is optimized for fast action and continuous burst mode shooting. SanDisk says that these memory cards are designed for professionals and are backed with a lifetime warranty. Inside the memory card, SanDisk uses RTV silicone for added protection against shock and vibration.

The memory card is also able to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -13°F to 185°F. The memory card also ships with a downloadable copy of RescuePRO, which is a media recovery software that can get images back if accidentally deleted. With the addition of the 256 GB version, the SanDisk Extreme Pro CompactFlash cards are now available in capacities of 16 GB to 256 GB with pricing ranging from $219.99 up to $1809.99.
