		<description><![CDATA[The chip is obviously mostly meant for use in Smart TVs and the like, and thus the balance of resources is weighted towards the graphics. This is the first I&#039;ve heard about the actual performance of what Broadcom calls VideoCore IV (which they got by buying a UK based outfit). The comment might not even apply to 3D performance, but raw video decode performance.
But yeah, the CPU itself is very weak, but for media players all it is doing is telling the dedicated hardware what work to do.]]></description>

What I read about the Pi was that to get the chip price down they used a old and cheap chip. 
While I have heard that the Tegra 2 has ram pipe line speed restrictions not found in say the latest TI chips over all it would still whip the arse of a 700mhz Arm11
