2016 Nissan Frontier gains new colors and a slight price hike

Small truck buyers still don't have many options when it comes to buying a new truck. We have the stalwart Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier. Chevy came along and tossed the Colorado back into the US market and those are the choices today. Nissan has announced pricing on the 2016 Frontier truck.

Other than some new paint colors the truck carries through with no mechanical changes for 2016. We are expecting the Frontier to get a refresh in the next few model years. The MSRP for the 2016 Frontier starts at $18,090 for the Frontier S King Cab 4x2 with a 5-speed manual transmission. That is about as cheap as you will find a new truck today.

The new colors for 2016 include forged copper, gun metallic, and magnetic black bring the total color choices to eight for 2016. Buyers can also get the Frontier Crew Cab SV with a moonroof package that wasn't available previously.

Two engines carry through with the base being a 2.5L four in the King Cab only. The other engine is a 4.0L V6 making 261hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can get king cab and crew cab bodies in 4x2 or 4x4 versions in five trim grades for 2016. Trims include S, SV, Pro-4X, Desert Runner, and SL. Top of the line Pro-4X crew cab models start at $35,410. All models are subject to an $885 destination fee.
