2016 GMC Terrain unveiled in New York

GMC has announced that it has updated the Terrain SUV and the updated vehicle has been unveiled at the New York auto show. The 2016 Terrain gets new front and rear fascias, a new grille design, power dome hood, LED running lamps, and additional updates. Certain models can also get safety features like side blind zone alert and rear cross traffic alert for the first time.

Those safety features are offered on the SLE and SLT versions of the car, which also get chrome accented grill designs. Non-Denali models get 18-inch aluminum wheels while the Denali gets 19-inch wheels.

SE and SLE models now get premium cloth seats and a Saddle Up leather interior is available on the SLT model. Denali models get light titanium/jet black interior combination. SLT models also get an 8-way power seat for passengers.

New color options include white frost tricoat and crimson red tintcoat. The standard engine for the Terrain is an Ecotec 2.4L good for 32MPG on the highway. A direct-injected 3.6L V6 is available with 301 hp and 272 ft-lb of torque. GMC IntelliLink is offered as well with 4G LTE connectivity and WiFi hotspot built-in. The 2016 Terrain will go on sale this fall with pricing announced later.
