The 2015 Ford Mustang was introduced back on December 5, at which time we got a fairly thorough look at the car and a batch of glamour shots. While there’s still a wait for those who want to get their hands on the real deal, “Need for Speed Rivals” players won’t need to wait, with Ford announcing a free in-game download available now in five different fan-customized designs.
Need for Speed is common ground for Mustang, which has been featured in the game for nearly ten years. Ford says it worked alongside the EA development team many months ago, supplying the developers with data needed to make a digital model reminiscent of the sports car. Also making an appearance as a police chase car, the Shelby GT500 Mustang can also be found in the game, not including the five custom designs.
Need for Speed Rivals is available for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the PC. Check out the video above to see the digital 2015 Mustang in action, which also offers a look at the different fan-originating customization options gamers can choose from. Excited? When the real model arrives, it will feature an EcoBoost engine option, commemoration badge, and “clean sheet” design, among other things.
Said Ford digital marketing manager Andrea Zuehlk: “During the past five decades, Mustang has become so much more than just a car. The feeling of freedom and independence Mustang inspires has made it popular around the world. Making it available in Need for Speed Rivals helps us share the joy that comes from driving a Mustang to even more people.”
