2015 Chrysler 200 gets official in Detroit

Chrysler is among the many carmakers that are gathered in Detroit for the kickoff of the North American International Auto Show today. Chrysler is showing off an all-new version of its 200 that looks much better than the old version of the car. The new 200 will launch later this year as a 2015 model.

Chrysler isn't offer all the details on the car, but the important basics are known. The 2015 200 will come with a 2.4L Tigershark 4-cylinder engine standard. It will have an optional 3.6L Pentastar V6 as well. The Tigershark engine has 184hp and 173 lb-ft of torque.

The V6 will produce 295hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. The standard transmission in the car is a 9-speed auto designed for the most fuel efficiency possible. The 2015 200 will be offered in an all-wheel drive version.

The chassis and suspension of the 2015 Chrysler 200 are said to be closely related to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Specs and pricing details will be offered later this year when the car is closer to launch.
