2014 Subaru BRZ gets standard nav and HID headlights

Subaru has announced the 2014 BRZ sports car. The vehicle carries forward with a 200-horsepower Subaru Boxer engine and still focuses on a low center of gravity, light weight, and precise handling. The 2014 model is available with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The 2014 model gets standard in-dash GPS navigation system featuring a 6.1-inch LCD. The standard audio system is a single-disc CD player supporting MP3/WMA, and has a USB port, 3.5 mm auxiliary input, and Bluetooth mobile phone connectivity. A new feature for the navigation system for 2014 is that it is voice-activated and now includes XM satellite radio and XM NavTraffic.

NavTraffic does require a subscription. The car is also available with a Sport-tech package that offers additional features while still keeping the weight low. Vehicles with the Sport-tech package get new front fog lights and a body color truck spoiler. The seats also get Alcantra inserts and leather bolsters with the package.

Other features of the package include dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, keyless access, and pushbutton engine start. The door visor mirrors are also illuminated and front door courtesy lights glow when the doors are opened. Subaru hasn't announced pricing for the 2014 model at this time.
