2014 Nissan Rogue introduced with complete redesign

Nissan has taken the wraps off its 2014 Rogue, the latest in five 2013 and 2014 models that the auto maker says it has completely redesigned. With the vehicle comes a variety of features, among them being technologies like NissanConnect with Navigation and Apps, as well as optional extra seating and a new cargo system.

The Nissan Rogue has been around since its launch in 2008, with the latest model coming with a redesign including things like "emotive styling," an interior with focus on comfort and multi-tasking ability, and various technological options. As mentioned, the 2014 model is offering an optional third row/seven-passenger seating arrangement, as well as a Divide n' Hide Cargo System with 18 adjustments options for those who eschew the extra row of seats.

Under the hood, the 2014 Rogue offers a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes alongside an Xtronic CVT transmission with a Sport Mode switch to change driving styles. Over the last models, the 2014 model has a 40-percent decrease in friction loss, as well as a better pulley and belt system and less oil churning friction. All results in a 10-percent efficiency increase, with MPG ratings coming in at 26MPG city and 33MPG on the highway.

The 2014 Rogue is being offered in three different models — S, SV, and SL — all of them having the option of front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The SV model adds onto the standard model with 17-inch aluminum wheels, a dual-zone auto climate control, Intelligent Key with Push Button Start, privacy glass, and more. The Rogue SL, meanwhile, builds upon both those models with Bose audio alongside nine speakers, leather-appointed seating, a 7-inch touchscreen, 18-inch wheels, and more.

Nissan's Divisional Vice President of Sales and Marketing Fred Diaz said: "Like every Nissan, Rogue is designed to energize owners' lives by not only meeting their expected needs, but by going beyond the norm with features such as the Around View Monitor® that helps make parking less stressful. With Rogue, as we've done with the all-new Altima, Pathfinder, Sentra and Versa Note before it, we're bringing a new level of affordable technologies and innovations to a segment looking for fresh ideas."
