half the lines of this car are "borrowed" from the genesis, look at the rear window, almost identical. headlights very similar to the new 2012, rear end haunches ring a bell...
100,000 mile warranty, nuff said
camry is front wheel drive, not more fun
transmission- german zf transmissions, arguably some of the best in the business

but very true, mostly subjective. this car will sell 5 times as many as any hyundai because of the toyota/scion following

Looks - Purely subjective, thanks for your opinion but no one cares. Not even your mother.
Warranty - I didnt know the warranty was a selling point on this car. I have owned many Japanese cars and have never once had a warranty claim, maybe I am lucky
Power - Again, didn't know HP was a selling point of this car. We all know that more HP = more fun right? So my wife's V6 Camry is more 'fun' because it has more HP?
Transmission - I have read every major car news rag on both of these cars and I hear glowing praise of the FRS transmission and 'well at least it is better than the last model' for the Genesis. I will wait for a test drive to make this judgement.

Only an idiot is paying $5k over MSRP. Forum talk indicates most BRZ buyers are getting theisr at MSRP, and FR-S buyers are doing even better - I am in a group buy for $500 over invoice with dealer-cost accessories and no fees.

Scion operates off of "Pure Price" , so you shouldn't see too much gouging at the factory dealer level.

The hottest thing about this vehicle is it's low cost, but because of limited production runs, dealerships are tacking on "finder fees" of around 5K and gouging potential purchasers. This is pushing the costs into the 30K range. At that point, you're starting to compete with 350z's, WRX's, Turbo'd Miatas etc.

This car doesn't hold up at that price point. Fanboys from both camps (Subaru and Toyota) with too much money to burn, will be the only ones buying these.

I'll be buying mine next year after someone trades theirs in realising it wasn't worth the 30k. I'll let them take the devaluation, and I'll enjoy paying half as much.
