2013 Fiat 500 Turbo offers 135 HP

If you liked what the Fiat 500 Abarth was packing under the hood, but felt that the menacing looking little car was a bit too garish, you may want to take a look at the new 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo. The new car gets a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged engine sporting 135 HP and 150 pound-foot of torque. The little turbocharged engine sends its power through a racetrack inspired manual transmission.

The car is also fitted with a sports exhaust system and has sport-tuned suspension and steering. The new Turbo also gets sport-tuned front-lower control arms and a higher performance braking system. Along with the performance improvements also comes improved styling with performance inspired fascias and side sills to improve aerodynamics and the style of little Fiat.

The 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo will arrive in the US this fall with a price of $19,500. That price tag makes the Fiat 500 Turbo one of the most affordable turbocharged vehicles in the United States. The 500 Turbo has 34% more horsepower and 53% more torque than the standard Fiat 500.

The car uses a C510 5-speed manual transmission with a 3.3 5 Final Dr. ratio. That drive ratio allows for better acceleration and a higher top speed while still achieving 34 mpg on highway. Fiat also fits the car with a beefed-up intermediate shaft equally half shafts to help eliminate torque steer. The Fiat 500 Turbo also gets 16-inch aluminum wheels with black painted pockets. The high-performance braking system uses 11.1-inch rotors in the front and red painted brake calipers. The 2013 fiat 500 Turbo will sit between the standard Cinquecento and the Abarth in performance.
