Doesn’t a test drive of any kind discover this. Even onto the trailer headed to the dealer or from the trailer onto the dealer lot. What about the part where the customer drives this thing with a sales guy sitting in the car. Missing pads = noise of some kind. Not blaming the customer, just those that should have known better. How they got sold is kind of amazing.

Same old GM and its network. Vowed off GM some 15-20 years ago, was thinking about a Buick, forget that now.

The hub assemblies are imported from kOREA and installed as a unit. The pads are not installed at the plant. Yes if you stopped and inspected every one you would see the pad missing but its part of the wheel bearing and knuckle assembly. so its NOT looked for.

Umm..oops? Don’t they inspect cars before they ship them out? I can see missing a seal or something deep inside, but brake pads..really?

Okay, I’m a current ASE Certified Master Technician and I have to say first, DO NOT DRIVE your car to GM. Tow it. Second, who wouldn’t notice all the growling from the brake parts missing? Inner brake pads missing would result in the brake piston making contact with the rotor – aka – lots of grinding and very unpleasant smells as brake fluid and rubber begin to deteriorate and potentially simply burn up. Outer brake pads missing will result in the brake rotor making contact with the caliper – aka – LOTS of grinding. Seriously folks, I’m not one that recommends you freak out the second you car makes a little noise but this would be IMPOSSIBLE not to notice. I just have to LOL all over this as this is a total failure on GM’s part. Way to go!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA… No freakin way. How did they manage to not find out about this sooner, and at the dealers before the car even left the lot. HAHAHAHAHAHA welp, I will never buy a NEW CHEVY agian.
