2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR grabs Nurburgring production car lap record

Of all the factory built street legal racing cars in the world, the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR is one of the most capable. The car packs in a race ready chassis and aerodynamics along with a massive 600HP V10 engine under the hood. There were no 2011 model year Viper cars so when the car geeks from the Chrysler Group SRT team, Viper Club of America, and ViperExchange by Tomball Dodge teamed up to grab the production car lap record at the famed 12.9-mile Nurburgring Nordschleife track in Germany, records fell.

ViperExchange sent two brand-new Viper ACR cars from Tomball Dodge in Tomball, Texas to Germany where one was piloted by GT class driver Dominik Farnbacher to a new lap record of 7:12.13 around the demanding and famous course. The suspension on the ACR is certainly up to the task with double adjustable coil over dampers at the front and rear.

The Viper ACR held the record on the track previously with a time of 7:22.1, a record that stood through most of 2011. The Viper ACR holds records at 19 different racetracks in the US and around the country. You can check out the video below and see the Viper ACR on its record setting run around the ring.
